Sanfordは1857年にマサチューセッツ州でSanford Manufacturing Companyとして設立され、シカゴへ移転した後はアメリカを代表するインク・接着剤メーカーの一つとなりました。ヴィンテージのSanford's万年筆インクのボトルは、今日ではコレクターズアイテムとなっています。同社はのちにSanford L.P.となり、現在はSharpie、Paper Mate、Parker、WatermanとともにNewell Brandsの傘下で事業を続けています。
