Bayard was a Parisian fountain pen manufacturer founded in 1922, which formally adopted the Stylo Bayard name in 1932 after the medieval knight Pierre Terrail de Bayard. The firm was known for consistently well-made pens across economical and luxury ranges, comparable in quality to American imports. Sales declined with the rise of the ballpoint and the company ceased operations in 1973.
