Privacy Policy

The short version: the Inktend app doesn't require an account and stores your pen and ink collection on your own device (and your own iCloud, if you use it) — not on our servers, because we don't have one for your data. This website separately collects only what you choose to give it: an email address, if you sign up for updates.

The Inktend app

Inktend is built local-first. Your pens, inks, fills, and photos are stored in the app's local database on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, Apple syncs that data across your own devices using your own iCloud account — Inktend does not operate a separate server that receives or stores your collection data.

You can export your full collection as a CSV file at any time from within the app, and import from a CSV (including Fountain Pen Companion exports). Deleting the app deletes its local data, subject to whatever remains in your own iCloud backups.

This website (inktend.app)

Browsing the ink library, pen library, brand directory, and tools on this site doesn't require an account and isn't tied to any personal identifier we control. If you submit your email address through the "Notify me" form, we store that address solely to send you occasional updates about Inktend (new features, Android interest, Swatch Card launches). You can ask to be removed at any time — see Contact below.

This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Third-party links

Some pages link to third-party retailers (for example, to buy a bottle of ink or a pen). Some of these may be affiliate links, meaning Inktend may earn a small commission on a purchase at no extra cost to you. Those retailers have their own, separate privacy policies — we'd encourage you to review theirs before purchasing.

Children's privacy

Inktend is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
