Chilton was a vintage American pen maker established in Boston in 1923 by Seth Chilton Crocker, who had previously worked at his father's Crocker Pen Company. From 1924 it marketed pens with a distinctive pneumatic filling system, in which sliding the outer barrel over an internal cylinder compressed air to fill a large ink reservoir. The company struggled after the 1929 stock market crash and eventually went bankrupt.
