Dick Bruna (1927-2017) was a Dutch illustrator and author from Utrecht, best known as the creator of Miffy (Nijntje), the rabbit character he first drew in 1955. His instantly recognizable style of heavy graphic lines, simple shapes and primary colors appears on licensed Miffy stationery and gift products worldwide.
