Sakura Color Products Corporation was established in 1921 in Osaka, Japan. It invented the Cray-Pas oil pastel in the 1920s and the archival Pigma ink line in 1982, and is credited with creating the first gel ink pen with its Gelly Roll. Best known for art supplies and marker pens like the Pigma Micron, Sakura also sells fountain pens and other writing instruments.
