Scrikss has been Turkey's dominant writing instrument name since 1963, built on a Spanish-Catalan name ("escriure," to write) and a licensing history that included producing Waterman-branded pens for the Turkish market in the 1970s. Its piston-filled 419 model, revived from a 1989 original, remains the brand's best-known export, now sold in more than 70 countries.
