Paper & pairing
Browns tend to photograph and scan a little darker than they look in person, worth testing before using one for anything that will be digitized. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.
About Carter's
Carter's Ink Company was an American ink manufacturer founded in Boston in 1858 by William Carter, who began by repackaging other makers' inks under his own name. Later headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it grew into what was once the largest ink manufacturer in the world, producing writing inks, fountain pens and mechanical pencils. Vintage Carter's inks remain sought after by collectors.
