Paper & pairing
Blues and navies are the most broadly "safe" fountain pen colors — legible, professional, and unlikely to raise eyebrows in an office. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.

Ink Mazeru (from the Japanese word "mazeru," to mix) is a blendable fountain pen ink line from KA-KU, a Japanese pen retailer based in Osaka. The water-based dye inks come in numbered, emotion-themed base colors formulated to be mixed freely while keeping good color development and low cloudiness, and the line also includes shop-original colors created for individual stationery stores.
Storing and using the bottle
