Blues and navies are the most broadly "safe" fountain pen colors: legible, professional, and unlikely to raise eyebrows in an office. This ink will behave predictably on most fountain-pen-friendly paper. Cheap, highly absorbent paper (standard copier paper) will dull any ink's saturation and can cause feathering or bleed-through with wetter nibs.

Papier Platz is a Japanese stationery brand of Cres Co., Ltd., a company established in December 1977 and based in Saitama City. The brand makes design-focused stationery including miniature masking tapes, glass pens and the award-winning "Saitama ink" (彩玉ink) line of colored inks, and also produces regional collaboration goods. Its glass pen won a 2023 Saitama New Product Award.
