About Garant

Garant was an East German pen manufacturer, active through the 1940s to 1960s, and was among the largest and most innovative writing instrument makers in the GDR. Its fountain pens, such as the Sator and Alkor models with gold nibs, are regarded by collectors as rivaling contemporary West German brands, but the company disappeared along with most East German pen production after the 1960s.
