Fountain pens & inks from Germany
German makers built much of the mechanical backbone of the modern fountain pen: Pelikan patented the differential-pressure piston filler in 1929, and Lamy's Bauhaus-influenced designs from the 1960s onward remain some of the most recognized pen silhouettes anywhere. Two of the industry's biggest third-party nib manufacturers, Bock and Schmidt, are also German, supplying nibs to boutique brands worldwide.
