Inktend is made by nonpilot, so the address is a nonpilot one. It reaches the same person either way. We read everything and usually reply within a few days.

Before you write

A few things come up often enough to answer here.

Where is my collection stored?

On your device, in the app. There is no account to create and no server holding your pens and inks — we don't operate one for your collection data. That also means we cannot recover your library for you if the device is lost, so if it matters to you, export it now and again.

How do I get my data out?

Settings, then export. You get a CSV of your whole library that you can open in any spreadsheet. It's your data and it leaves whenever you want it to.

I'm coming from Fountain Pen Companion

Export from Fountain Pen Companion, then import that file in Settings. Pens, inks and fills come across. Anything already in your library is skipped rather than duplicated, and archived pens are left behind.

Why is a pen telling me to flush it?

Different inks tolerate sitting in a pen for different lengths of time. Iron gall can corrode a nib if it dries inside, so its window is short — eight days. Shimmer settles at twelve, pigment clogs feeds at fourteen, ordinary dye inks get twenty-one. The reminder is advice, not a rule; you know your pens.

The app is free. What's the catch?

There isn't a subscription and there are no ads. Some links to retailers on this website are affiliate links, which is how the work gets paid for. The app itself doesn't sell you anything.

Something's wrong, or something's missing

Tell us. Bug reports are welcome, and so are requests for inks or pens missing from the catalogue — say the brand and the name and we'll look at adding them. If you're reporting a bug, the device and iOS version help more than you'd think.
